The national park of Mount Amber is a volcanic massif that occupies 18.2 thousand hectares. It is located in the northern part of Madagascar. In the park you will see magnificent forests, waterfalls, including La Grande Falls, beautiful lakes and of course rare species of lemurs – the crowned and brown lemur of Sanford.

The name Amber Mountain “Amber Mountain” comes from amber resin, which flows from trees and is considered healing. Locals use tar in medicine. This park is one of the first and oldest national parks, which was founded in 1958. Only here and nowhere else in the world will you encounter such rare birds and animals that live only here in this national park. Volcanic lakes, rainforests, cave vegetation impress even an experienced tourist. And the splendor of three waterfalls, one of which falls from a height of 80 meters, will not leave you indifferent. You will see the unique untouched nature of the fabulous Madagascar! The park has many attractions and a large number of hiking trails to them. You can take a beautiful walk along the scenic trail to a large waterfall or to a green lake.

Numerous cascades, waterfalls you will see in the park. There are several interesting hiking trails that lead to various waterfalls. One of them is the Sacred Waterfall. The path to it is the simplest and shortest, does not require much effort. But it is on this route that a large number of lemurs, rare birds and orchids are found. The sacred waterfall is surrounded by ferns. This is an idyllic cave with waterfalls, where water rushes into a natural pool. All trails are surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, exotic flowers, sounds of rare African birds. Well, if you take bananas with you, treats for lemurs, these wonderful animals will enjoy your treats with pleasure.

The height of the Amber Mountain is -1475 m. If you climb to the very top of the mountain, then we will have a magnificent view of all these fabulous beauties of the northern part of the island from the Mozambique Canal on the left to the Indian Ocean on the right.

The park is unique in its abundance of rare animals. And also there are species that open almost every year. Flora is also unique: palm trees, ferns, rare orchids are just a paradise for lovers of exotic nature. The park has 75 species of birds, 25 species of mammals, 8 species of lemurs, 60 species of reptiles and 25 species of amphibians, tailed chameleons, 40 species of butterflies, 35 species of frogs, leaf-tailed geckos, as well as parrots and herons.

 Amberg Mountain National Park is definitely worth a visit. If you are in the north of Madagascar, do not miss this paradise unforgettable forest!
